Dr. Dutton created the below infographic on everything you need to know about turbinate surgery. Turbinates are thin bones covered with thin tissue on the interior wall of the nose. Patients tend to undergo turbinate surgery because allergies or other nasal problems can cause the turbinates to swell and block airflow. Patients can experience improved breathing, reduced sinus-related snoring, less allergy issues, and less nasal congestion and drainage.
